A Unique and Meaningful Volunteer Experience
We need dental, vision, medical, and general volunteers for each of our clinics
We need dental, vision, medical, and general volunteers for each of our clinics
Our dental section aims to take patients out of pain, remove infection and put patients on the path to better oral health. We provide the tools, supplies and personal protective equipment so all you need to do is show up to provide life changing care.
We offer cleanings, fillings and extractions to our patients.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons
General Dentists
Dental Hygienists
Dental Assistants
While we do always have a place for postgraduate dental students, pre-dental are limited to non-clinical tasks. Dental schools and volunteer groups should contact volunteers@healingca.org to find out more
Our vision services include providing comprehensive eye exams and glasses fabrication on-site, so patients receive their glasses as quickly and easily as possible. Our finishing equipment produces custom single vision glasses on-site, and we have an on-going partnership with the Essilor Vision Foundation to make any glasses that we cannot produce on-site with our equipment.
Optometrists
Ophthalmologists
Ophthalmic Techs
Dispensing opticians
Vision Lab Technicians
Pre-optometry students are welcomed and are limited to glasses fabrication and dispensing. Please visit our upcoming clinic page and be sure to sign-up for our e-newsletter, so you never miss a volunteer opportunity.
Medical professionals are given volunteer assignments in our triage station. You will be taking patient histories, vitals and making sure our patients are healthy enough to receive Healing California’s dental and vision care services.
Registered Nurses, LVN’s, EMT’s and other medical professionals are needed in our triage stations. The requirements for other medical volunteers vary by the demands of the individual clinic, please email volunteers@healingca.org to discuss your particular medical expertise and how you can best support the work of Healing California.
Because we are a healthcare organization, certain general volunteer roles are restricted to those with appropriate training. However, from setting up equipment to helping with patient registration, there’s a role for a variety of skill-sets within our clinics. There are a number of roles that do not require training or experience but still give you an important, hands on role.
